Thirteen public builders out of 22 earned an A+, A, or A- on the BIG BUILDER Report Card, an annual rating of builders’ efforts published by Builder Online.
The companies are ranked from first to last in each of four major categories – financial, land, operations, and sales and marketing. Each category is given a score, which is then used to provide a final rating, from A to F. No companies this year received anything lower than a C.
PulteGroup scored the highest of all public builders this year with an A+ rating. CalAtlantic Homes — the result of a Standard Pacific and Ryland Group merge – also nabbed an A+ rating, scoring the highest in land with the largest growth in years of supply of lots controlled.
